Fire Emblem Echoes new gameplay trailer and Red Dead Redemption mod for GTAV is no more.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia new trailer.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is a remake of the 1992 Fire Emblem Gaiden, the second game in the series, on the Famicom. Echoes is releasing outside of Japan on May 19 for the Nintendo 3DS. The new trailer, titled ‘A Master Class in Strategy’, gives a basic outline of the series’ classic tactical RPG gameplay and class system. It also shows some dungeon gameplay which is more typical of a JRPG (attacking enemies you find in the dungeon to trigger battles) as well as its amiibo support.

Opinion: Echoes is looking like a really solid game and the mix of tactical RPG and JRPG gameplay is pretty interesting. I’m especially impressed by the fact that the game is fully voice acted for all dialogue. I do wish that Nintendo would just drop the 3DS though and focus on the Switch. Hopefully this is the last 3DS exclusive Fire Emblem we see before a Switch one is released.

Red Dead Redemption mod for GTAV shut down.

The creators of the mod, .White Team, were contacted and asked to stop work on their project. The mod, titled Red Dead Redemption V, was a full conversion mod which replaces the world of Grand Theft Auto V with that of Red Dead Redemption. The lead programmer, who goes by the name Mr. Leisurewear, posted on the forums of the mod:

“I know this is hard pill to swallow, but as you may have noticed we did get contacted , and we sadly have to say we are stopping this project.

So thanks guys, we were all so happy to see this, but it isn’t going to happen, sorry”

The team has since removed the trailer from their Youtube channel but you can find additional information onĀ Red Dead Redemption V here.

Opinion: It’s always a shame but never a surprise when a fanmade project, especially one as ambitious as this, is shut down. While it is understandable that Take-Two/Rockstar had to take action here, it’s frustrating that it feels like they just don’t want PC players to be able to play their game. Hopefully Red Dead Redemption 2, which is currently only announced for consoles, will get a PC version and maybe even release alongside a PC port of the original.
