SNES Classic launching September 30 in Australia for $120AUD.

If you want one, go pre-order it now. You know were going to run out.

Nintendo will indeed be releasing a SNES Classic after the success of their previous NES Classic. It will feature 21 classic games and be releasing in Australia on September 30 for $120AUD.

The games featured on this collection are fantastic with something here to please everyone. Highlights include:

  • Super Mario World
  • Super Mario Kart
  • Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
  • F-Zero
  • Super Metroid
  • Street Fighter 2 Turbo
  • Super Punch Out
  • Donkey Kong Country
  • Mega Man X
  • Starfox 1 and the never released 2.
  • Earthbound
  • Yoshi’s Island

There are reports that Nintendo has also listened to their consumers with more consoles to be produced and with the controllers having longer cables, 2 of the most common complaints about the NES Classic.

Opinion: Now this looks like a great deal so far. These games represent one of the biggest jumps in quality in gaming history in my opinion and there are some true classics here. I am still worried about the availability of the console. If you are interested in the console I would ask you to stop reading and go pre-order it right now. I think that this will see the same level of hype as the previous console and I’m not sure if Nintendo can be trusted to meet the demand.

Otherwise, I’m excited about this one and will pick one up if stock is available. I did say that about the previous one though and never got a chance.
